This is the encore performance from Cuore's 'Mirabilia' Concert on 27th April 2024, at which we were privileged to give the Irish premiere. 'In taberna quando sumus' (‘when we are in the tavern’) begins as a militaristic account of the immoral acts of the inebriated crowd, and the march soon descends into anarchy with a list of merrymakers joining in the mischief: included are mistress, master, priest, pauper, men, women, white, black, the Pope, old ladies, mothers, children, merchants, Christians, the smart, and the lazy. The composer writes: “In my imagination, the piece is a fusion of primal energy, irony, and dark grotesque, envisioning an ecstatic celebration akin to a lively party at Bacchus’ house.”. He fuses percussive lyrics, energetic rhythms and sometimes almost drunken modulations to capture this raucous mood.  less

Bois Goetre-hen are a new male Choir covering the ...  moreWelsh Male Voice Choir Bois Goetre-hen a'r Cylch sing Gwahoddiad at their St David's Day Concert. This traditional Welsh hymn was arranged for male voice Choir by John Tudor Davies, words by Ieuan Gwyllt. Bois Goetre-hen are a new male Choir covering the lower Llynfi Valley and Bridgend area, with a broad range of choristers and repertoire. This Concert took place in Aberkenfig Bible Church- a fantastic venue near Bridgend.

Video courtesy of Steve Blowers. The members of Bournemouth Male Voice met at central Bournemouth and took a coach off into the depths of Dorset to give a Concert at Tyneham Church. It was an amazing evening – the church absolutely stuffed to capacity the Choir uber-vibrant and full of good music. An historic event 70 years on (to the week) from the evacuation of Tyneham and the occasion, the poetry and music stirred up many differing feelings; laughter, poignancy and nostalgia chief amongst them. A privilege to take part in the event – thanks to Lt Col Ken Davies for his perfect organisation of the event – the phrase military precision comes to mind!  less
