We began with The singular purpose of ministry and spreading The gospel. ​Since incorporation, NGGC now operates under two mandate objectives: to develop The professional and musical skills of young adults 20-30 years of age; and to bring gospel music as a respected genre of music, along with its more evolved counterparts (Jazz and Classical music), in Canada. Gospel Music has served vitally in The development of all members who have joined NGGC. Our unique incorporation, interpretation, and delivery of this embodied form of art, has garnered multiple forms of support — like spectators; organizations; donors; and sponsors alike — granting us The ability to develop both The musical and professional skills of our members in tandem.  less

The group meets every Wednesday evening in The gym at The Maudsley Hospital, 115 Denmark Hill SE5 8AZ between 6-7pm. Our patron is The wonderful Mary King.

Homechoir is a new way of looking at learning music. You don’t need to be able to sing well or at all to take part – The teaching is one-way. When Odwa Mvunge return to his birth community in 2012, after completing his music education studies at Nelson Mandela University, not much has changed. There still was no place in Zolani for The youth to express Themselves in cultural activities that was not offered at school nor in The community. After school The youth would loiter around without direction. This lead to The formation of The Zolani Youth choir. The basic idea and purpose of The Choir is to equip youth of our community with basic music skills. The Choir consists of 25 scholars from different schools who are between The ages of 12 and 26 years. These scholars have no professional training or background in formal music, but have proven to have a passion and love for The art. Formed in 2017, The members come from The island of Ireland and beyond, encompassing a huge range of musical experiences. The musical connection of The group to Ireland is deep and spans all The traditions present here. The songs and texts date back as far as The Viking raids on Ireland in The 9th century, through to music created by The men Themselves under The direction of Their Artistic Director Michael McGlynn. This year The group release Their debut album, "M'ANAM" in The Autumn, and are featured artists on The opening track "Clarity" of The latest album by acclaimed Japanese Jazz-rock Ensemble Mouse on The Keys whose 3rd album "tres" was released this May to universal acclaim. Their first digital single "Bandó Ribineann" is released this June.  less
