In mid-April, 2011, composer Ola Gjeilo spent 3 days on the Central Washington University Campus to join the choir in recording 3 of his pieces, (the teaser/trailer URL is found below) This performance of Gjeilo's "Ubi Caritas" is from that session, following a rendition in which the composer joined the choir and improvised an accompaniment (URL below). In this video the choir sings the piece in its published (unaccompanied) version. One behind-the-scenes comment: On the last page of the piece, when the first melodic material occurs again - Ola, who was sitting in the hall, asked half the choir to hum while the other half sang to create a more ethereal effect. We encourage choral singing for all ages and abilities, including those who have never sung in choirs before as well as very experienced Singers. We perform a wide range of music throughout the year and we're committed to contributing to the cultural life of our area. There is no need to audition, just to love singing! The vocal section of the Goldberg Ensemble, consisting of about 22 Singers coming from various established choirs in Malta, brings together choral enthusiasts to perform primarily baroque choral music in a more exhaustive manner. The musicians too are distinguished performers in their own right who tour Europe extensively, and who are versatile on both modern and baroque instruments. The ensemble's director, Michael Laus, is the inspiration and motivator of the Goldberg Ensemble, whose harpsichord playing and conducting have been highly acclaimed by the international press.  less

Since its formation it has presented well over 100 perfor...  moreThe Elgar Chorale is a Worcester-based group of up to 40 Singers, founded by Dr Donald Hunt which has always specialised in English music, with a particular emphasis on the works of Edward Elgar. Since its formation it has presented well over 100 performances and ppeared at each of the Worcester Three Choirs Festivals from 1981 to 1996. Performances have included world premières of works by Sir Richard Rodney Bennett, Herbert Sumsion and Howard Blake, and a British première of Leonard Bernstein’s Missa Brevis. The Chorale was also the principal choral group at the highly successful Elgar Festivals at Worcester in 2007 and 2009, and last year enjoyed a concert tour in Devon, singing at Colyton, Dartmouth, Exeter and Torquay. It is proud to have Dame Janet Baker, C.H as its Patron.  less
