The group sings in Hebrew, Yiddish, Ladino and English, and has an informal concert/sing-along each term. We also do small performances for charity.

Our ethos: CONTEXT Historical, social and environmental contexts of Music, and the influence of these on performance, will be central to rehearsals and concerts. They will define the themes of our repertoire each year. COLLABORATION Based in Leeds, the Choir has numerous opportunities to collaborate with other ensembles, composers and charities to promote and support Musicians throughout the North. We hope to work with a variety of Musicians to develop quality and future collaboration within the Choir. COMMUNICATION No Music?! Yes, we will perform without sheet Music in concerts. The group named DEKOR Chamber Choir is composed of experienced choral singers from various parts of Slovenia, who in the past used to sing in renowned Slovene and some foreign Vocal ensembles. Driven by the desire of thorough preparation of quality choral projects, the Choir works under the leadership of Slovene and foreign guest conductors. The Choir prepared their inaugural concert, entitled In the Beginning, in cooperation with young Finnish conductor Dani Juris The topic of creation coincided not only with the central composition of the concert, Copland’s In the Beginning, but also with the Choir’s first public appearance and presentation of the concept of their work. We are passionate about polyphony! We love to sing Music from regions around the world which have a strong tradition of singing in harmony. Music from Eastern Europe, Georgia, Africa and Jamaica etc finds its way into our repertoire. We also love to sing some beautiful classical works and Mozart, Bortniansky and Bach is much loved by the singers. Most of our Music is unaccompanied, except when our very talented instrumentalists (guitar, harp, cello, ukes, bodhran...) bring their instruments.  less
