Its aim is to provide opportunities for young singers at The early stages of performing careers, as well as for talented musicians who have chosen not to pursue careers in The music, but wish to continue singing to a high standard. They currently comprise singers from many established Choirs, including Birmingham Conservatoire Chamber Choir, Ex CaThedra, Armonico Consort, The Choir of Royal Holloway, Genesis Sixteen, Portsmouth CaThedral and York Minster. The group specialises in undiscovered or little-known British music, and in The music of The late sixteenth and early seventeenth centuries. Having made several successful concert tours to Europe and The U.K., in 2008 The ROS made award-winning appearances in The Olympic Cultural Festival with concerts in Beijing and Shanghai. The ROS is a frequent guest of The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra. We welcome advanced singers for weekly rehearsals in Rochester, New York, USA. Their members perform this activity in vocational fashion and The great majority of Them has main occupations and studies that are not related to musical activity. The organisation was set up by professional conductor, Emma Rowland, who suffers with anxiety and depression. Emma wanted to make Choirs, and singing, more accessible to everyone. During The COVID lockdown, SOS has been offering FREE virtual Choirs to The entire world. We're currently (June 2020) in 80 countries and working with thousands of singers each week. We've just launched our fourth project, an original song, ready to be made into a virtual Choir video.  less

Initially formed in 1987 simply as a means for those interested to gaTher togeTher to sing, more formal concerts were later organized and presented. In addition to two planned concerts a year (a Christmas concert in The Fall and a Spring concert), There are frequently requests from local organizations for appearances. For example, in The spring of 2011, The group performed at The Wright BroThers Monument for The Centennial of The Wright BroThers Glider Flight. The repertoire of The Outer Banks Chorus ranges from The Classical to Broadway, and spirituals of all kinds and in different languages. Recently The chorus has sung a number of premiere performances of pieces by contemporary composers. All are invited to hear The chorus sing exceptionally lovely and wonderful choral music.  less

They performed in 3 contests, in Gorizia (ITA) - 1st prize in pop caThegory, Graz (AUT) - bronze in pop caThegory and Rijeka (CRO) - 1st prize in gospel and jazz.  less
