Following in the footsteps of such distinguished predecessors as the world famous Le Mystere de Voix Bulgares, who won a Grammy award in 1989 and brought Bulgarian Folk to world-wide audiences, we are committed to preserving and celebrating this unique style of singing.
We are named after a mystery ourselves - Veda Slovena, The Vedas of the Slavs, was a compilation of Folk Songs from Thrace and Macedonia published in 19 c., which is still considered a mystification.
With an international cast of singers we are a living proof that true musical beauty and wisdom know no borders - neither national nor spiritual.

Experienced and respected pedagogues-musicians look after the musical development of the girls and artistic progra... moreThe SKOWRONKI Girls’ Choir from Poznań, Poland was established in 1950. From its beginning it has been affiliated with ZAMEK Culture Centre. Experienced and respected pedagogues-musicians look after the musical development of the girls and artistic program.
The Choir is conducted and creatively inspired by its Artistic Director and Conductor Alicja Szeluga, an educator and choral music aficionado. The Vocal Coach Marzena Michałowska, and accompanying pianist Czesław Łynsza, as well as percussionist Beata Polak complete the musical team.
The SKOWRONKI Girls Choir also has programs for younger groups. The ensemble is consists of 140 girls aged between 6 and 22. The singers of the choir are secondary school students as well as students from universities of Poznań. The group’s repertoire rediscovers and promotes works of various composers from different periods as well as performs pieces commissioned especially for the choir.

Celebrating its 40th season, the CSCC again shares with the greater Toledo area a unique series of cultural offerings. The Chorus specializes in the performance of Negro spirituals and is dedicated to its preservation as well as the performance of works by African American composers. The CSCC also maintains a liberal helping of standard classical music in its repertoire. Its members come from all walks of life, unified by their mutual love of great music. This award-winning ensemble has performed numerous times on radio, presented its own television “Special” on the statewide educational television network, as well as appearances on local TV stations. This past Christmas, the CSCC’s 2015 Community Celebration of Christmas was broadcast on public television WGTE.
