We are also aiming at focusing ...  moreEUCHO is a community choir based in Scenery Park, East London, under the leadership of Mr S Sonanze as the Director and Mr M Zenani as the Chorus Manager. Our aspiration is to take township choral singing to higher a level. We are also aiming at focusing more on choral projects and concerts than competitions so that our singers enjoy singing and get compensated for engaging in the choir. Choir members are taught Theory and History of music for free.  

A gospel song, celebrating Pentecost and recorded by the choir in their homes during the Covid-19 lockdown of Spring Summer 2020. The song premiered on London's Wandsworth Prison Radio on 31st May 2020 is dedicated to the staff and prisoners there.

The Southend Boys' Choir was formed in 1972 and the Girls' Choir in 1988. The choirs perform regularly in major London venues including Royal Albert Hall, and sing with professional orchestras. The choirs perform regularly in major London venues including Royal Albert Hall, and sing with professional orchestras. They also tour extensively, and have performed in US, Canada, Australia, Singapore, Seychelles and across Europe. We welcome visiting choirs and enjoy joining with other youth choirs in concerts. We have a Training choir for younger singers, and a choir for boys whose voices have changed.

The original church, built in the 1880s, had a strong choir ...  moreOur small but talented choir consists mainly of young people. All choir members receive a first-rate musical education. There has been a long tradition of musical excellence at St Laurence’s. The original church, built in the 1880s, had a strong choir of men and boys who took part in the Festival of Britain services in 1951. When the new church was opened in 1968, the musical tradition continued. A new Walker organ was installed in the church, using some pipework from the old organ and Directors of Music have included David Sanger, Professor Roger Wibberley, Paul Dewhurst, tom Fowkes, Marcus Wibberley, Iain Simcock and Andrew Ibbotson. The current Director of Music is Huw Morgan. Girls were first admitted to the choir some ten years ago, but the choir remains unique in this part of south-east London in that it continues to use only trebles (girls and boys) on the top line.
