Horlick High School, Gilmore Middle School, McKinley Middle School, Olympia Brown Elementary, Gifford Elementary, Winslow Elementary, Wadewitz Elementary and AppleChor from Red Apple Elementary combined to sing it as the Finale to the festival. There were about 280 children involved. It was born thanks to its director, Ludovico (Dodo) Versino, who instilled the love for choral music in High School students all across Rome, which led them all to become friends. It doesn’t have an exact date of birth, because it began as a way to get together, rather than as a formal Choir. They don’t have a uniform, a fixed meeting place, or a specific repertoire genre. They have been auditioned and selected from a program of 250 singers and identified as the cream of the crop based on their beauty of...  moreSounds of Summit is a group of the best singers, students, musicians, and citizens that Lee’s Summit High School offer. They have been auditioned and selected from a program of 250 singers and identified as the cream of the crop based on their beauty of vocal tone, musical intelligence, sight reading ability and academic achievement. They are also instrumentalists, actors, athletes, student leaders and ambassadors of LSHS. Most importantly, they are students who are DEDICATED to being the best they can be. As a result of these High standards, Sounds of Summit has developed a reputation in Lee’s Summit and around the nation as one of the elite High School level performing ensembles. We are frequently asked to perform with UMKC’s Conservatory, as well as multiple appearances at the Missouri Music Educators Convention.
