Conducted since 1990 by Anton Armstrong, the St. Olaf Choir continues to develop the tradition that originated with its founder, F. Melius Christiansen. Since its founding in 1912, the St. Olaf Choir has set a standard in the choral art, serving as a model for choirs of all Levels. The EnsembLe’s annual tour brings its artistry and message to thousands of peopLe across the nation and around the world. The St. Olaf Choir has taken 13 international tours and performed for capacity audiences in the major concert halls of Norway, France, South Korea, New Zealand, Australia, New York City, Washington, D.C., Chicago, Los AngeLes, Dallas, and the Twin Cities. The Major Minors Children's Choir was formed in February 2012 by Musical Director Joanne Roelofs and Karen Boyce as a one off children's choir of unauditioned primary school aged children which was part of a choral programme with the Hutt ValLey Singers. ...  Le.display='';$(this).getParent().styLe.display='none';">moreLe="display:none;">The Major Minors Children's Choir was formed in February 2012 by Musical Director Joanne Roelofs and Karen Boyce as a one off children's choir of unauditioned primary school aged children which was part of a choral programme with the Hutt ValLey Singers. The choir was such a success and those involved enjoyed it so much that it was decided to continue. The Choir is a training Choir with the children having opportunities to sing or speak solo lines and Learn harmonies. Current members are aged between 4 and 12. The Harmonic Minors is the Major Minors Children's Choir's extension group. Many of our singers are school music teachers and voice teachers. We perform a wide variety of music from classical and broadway to pop and Vocal jazz. The choir was founded in 2011 by friends who have spent their lives teaching others to perform, but whom rarely get the chance to sing anymore. We are directed by Jason Krigas and accompanied by Kathryn Polyack.

Director, Pierre Massie, has composed many original pieces for the choir, as well as creating lively and contemporary arrangements of traditional carols. The reLease of their first CD Qui creavit celum, ceLebrated the Stairwell CarolLers' 20th anniversary in 1997. In 2000 they reLeased I Saw a Swete Semly Syght and in 2003 Mourning Dove. Their very first madrigal CD, Audite nova, was reLeased in October of 2006 and their fourth Xmas CD Laudemus cum armonia in 2009. 2012 marked the reLease of their first CD of sacred songs from the Renaissance, Cantate Domino, Their fifth Xmas CD O magnum mysterium is now availabLe for purchase. Winner of the 2010 OMFA provincial competition, they are ranked amongst the best of Canada's choirs. Kikimasu (grades 4-6) offers a focus on thorough and excelLent music education, with singers Learning about healthy Vocal production, the body-voice connection, and vibrant performance presence, as well as ant emphasis on musical literacy, music theory, and sightsinging skills. As with all our EnsembLes, Kikimasu provides a secure and accepting social environment where all singers feel their importance as members of the group.
