The objective was to bring about musical performances (of choral works by foreign and Nigerian composers) of sufficiently high standard for international consumption, within the limitations of national resources.
The CHORALE which has grown in size to over 100 Singers has given numerous concerts in Lagos and other towns in Nigeria, including Aba, Abakaliki, Abeokuta, Abuja, Benin, Calabar, Eket, Enugu, Ibadan, Ife, Nsit Atai, Oko, Owerri, Port Harcourt, Umuahia and Uyo. It has performed many times on Radio and Television and has featured on many State, National and International functions. It was the nucleus of the Nigerian National Choir for FESTAC 77. In November 2003, the group featured at the opening ceremonies of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM) in Abuja, and the recent Nigerian centen... less

It's lucky to hear the flutes for dancing
coming down the road. The ground is glowing.
The table set in the yard.
We will drink all this wine tonight

over the sea,
or flecks of matter
in the ocean when the ocean seems lit from within.
I know I'm drunk when I start this ocean talk.
Would you like to see the moon split
in half with one throw?

Water Ruminations is a setting of six poems by the thirteenth-century poet Rumi, in English translations from the Persian by Coleman Barks, for double choir and organ. We are passionate about performance, and love to sing contemporary a cappella music in four-part harmony. Our choir is committed to musical excellence, and we love to learn. Continuous education is one of the foundations of Blue Sky Harmony, and we utilise the skills and experience of each person in our ensemble. Although we have diverse backgrounds, our members thrive on working together to achieve shared goals.
Blue Sky Harmony is available to sing at private and community events and we are always looking for new members to join our choir. Find out more about us via:
