Two years after its founding, it was awarded 1st Prize at the 29th National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA...  moreThe Samiweng Singers, the official SSAA Choir of the Ilocos Norte National High School was officially founded in 2001 by Robert Caluya. Two years after its founding, it was awarded 1st Prize at the 29th National Music Competition for Young Artists (NAMCYA) held at the Cultural Center of the Philippines. The group performed in various events such as Miss Earth Pageant in 2003 and 2004. The group was also one of the featured artists in the Samu’t-Saring Tinig V at the Cultural Center of the Philippines; in a concert at the Clamshell in Intramuros in February 2003; and in the International Youth Music Festival sponsored by NAMCYA held at the CCP in December 2003. In 2004, the Choir released its debut CD featuring Ilocano favourites and winning competition pieces. In 2005, the Choir was handed over to its new conductor, Sherberk Cabrales. Since then, we've been growing in quality, number of singers, range of repertory, and we've won two national awards in Spain in Choir contests. We like to touch the audience with our style. We're a group of about 20 men & women, and sing in 3 or 4 (or more) part harmony. Quorum love to raise money for local causes - covering all sorts of charities, in all sorts of venues. Quorum Singers of St Albans has been singing for over 25 years, and perform around 3 times a year in St Albans or locally in Hertfordshire. We rehearse once a week on Wednesdays, throughout the term time, and can often be found performing in Christopher Place around Christmas time!  less

They soon found a community of singers who are equally passionate about the energy and intimacy of chamber choral Music performed at a high caliber.
