Paul Rudoi, winner of MCA's 2011 "Young Composer's Composition Competition" and member of Cantus (also based in Minneapolis), has written a special composition for the combined ensembles that will be premiered in Milwaukee, then repeated in two performances when MCA travels to Minneapolis to perform with the National Lutheran Choir on their All Saints' programs November 3 and 4, 2012. Brahms' A German Requiem and Poulenc's Gloria, composed a century apart, express the joys and sorrows of being human. His mother's death, compounded Brahms' raw grief at the loss of his friend and mentor Robert Schumann nine years earlier to inspire this beautiful musical meditation on the tragedy of death. Brahms' intensely personal 'Requiem for Humanity' responds to the tragedy of mortality with a radiant affirmation of the consolation of faith. We Annually we perform two large concerts with professional soloists and orchestral musicians in Carlow, ‘Glory of Christmas’ in the National Concert Hall and annual ‘Christmas Crackers’ family concert in the George Bernard Shaw Theatre, Carlow.
