Bray Choral Society is a successful choir performing a wide range of choral works including Major works by Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mendelssohn and Rossini, along with short concerts and recitals including Byrd, Bach, Elgar, Stanford an...  moreBray Choral Society is a successful choir performing a wide range of choral works including Major works by Handel, Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Vivaldi, Mendelssohn and Rossini, along with short concerts and recitals including Byrd, Bach, Elgar, Stanford and also works by composers of The 20th and 21st centurys such as Orff, Rutter, Bodley, De Barra, Jenkins, Goodall, Whitacre, Gjeilo and Blackford. We have taken part in many choral competitions around Ireland with Success in New Ross, Arklow, Navan, Sligo and Cork. In 2013 we joined Wide Open Music in a performance of Beethoven's 9th Symphony, which was received with great enthusiasm. In The same year we also joined Opera Theatre Company for two performances in Their tour to promote young Irish soloists. In recognition of The millennium year and augmented by local choirs from around The country, we performed The Verdi Requiem to great acclaim in both Bray and Arklow. A CD of his choral music, I am The Song, was released in 2016 on Signum Classics. Bernard’s music featured on The Horrible Histories film Bill (2015), and he co-produced The album, Not Now, Bernard & OTher Stories, performed Orchestra of The Swan and Alexander Armstrong, released in February 2020. In January 2020 Bernard’s choral music was featured in a portrait concert by The BBC Singers, and in November 2020 one of The pieces from that concert, I Sing of Love, was nominated by The Ivors Academy for an Ivors Composer Award. With Bernard's kind permission I am releasing this video of my multitrack performance of a part of his mass, dating from around 2006.  less
