When the Bestattungsunternehmer takes the butcher and the baker he is not a loud proclaimer but a quiet undertaker. Solomons and Text by Thomas Clarke. This setting for Christmas represents the cold of a Northern winter (the cruel wind blows) although of course the actual events took place in rather warmer climes. It also reflects much of the liturgical and popular symbolism of the Christmas season: robins, holly etc and it brings our thoughts towards the season of Easter with the blood of Good Friday.

Composer and countertenor David Warin Solomons has sung many of his own choral works and the choral works of other composers by multitracking the parts on computer. He decided to call this one-man choir the dwsChorale. The range is bottom bass D to top a...  moreComposer and countertenor David Warin Solomons has sung many of his own choral works and the choral works of other composers by multitracking the parts on computer. He decided to call this one-man choir the dwsChorale. The range is bottom bass D to top alto e. Most recordings were done between 2005 and 2009. Only Time will tell whether the dwsChorale will be revived, but David keeps composing anyway, so who knows....
