The limit of the chorister is maximum 35-37 per choir (including the conductor and the choir’s leader). The program of the choir ensemble must be on the category of classical, POP, ROCK, JAZZ, or FOLK music. The choice of program it’s free without limit of the instruments that may accompany the choir ensemble. The duration of performance shall not exceed 20 minutes per performance. The choir ensembles may have tree performances during the Festival. The following application documents must be provided by the closing date June, 01.Accommodation shall be organized from the organizers in student hostels in Skopje. Since 2008 the St. Lawrence choir has been under the direction of Michael Zaugg. The Swiss-born musician has distinguished himself as an innovative and versatile conductor on the Canadian choral scene. Active as artistic director, guest conductor, pedagogue and clinician, Michael Zaugg brings a wealth of experience and creativity to his work. St. Lawrence choir was formed in 1972 by Iwan Edwards and a group of singers residing in the West Island of Montreal. Concerts were presented in Lachine until 1983 when the choir relocated to downtown Montreal. The choir’s repertoire imaginatively balances unaccompanied choral music from the Renaissance period with 19th - 21st century works. Although relatively small in number, the choir is accomplished in singing music in both double and triple choir form. Particular specialisms include the works of William Byrd, Thomas Tallis and Tómas Luis da Victoria. The choir has performed in many prestigious venues in Europe, including Notre-Dame in Paris, Chartres cathedral and Versailles. Events such as the Prague Spring International Festival (Czech Republic) have also featured the choir. In 2006, in Budapest, the choir performed Tallis’s towering 40-part motet Spem in Alium, with the internationally renowned Budapest Monteverdi choir. In 2008 the choir enjoyed a trip to the Lisbon region and sang in some truly fantastic venues, including Mosteiro dos Jerónimos.  less

Following the move in 1983 into the West End of Glasgow the choir was renamed Glasgow Lyric choir. ​ Under its present conductor, Julian Evans, the choir sings a wide repertoire of choral music from the Baroque, classical and Romantic periods and traditional Scots and Gaelic songs. We are a mixed voice choir numbering around 30 at present. ​ We gave two concerts in Glasgow during the 2017-2018 season: in December we presented a Christmas programme and in June we gave a concert featuring a selection of music from the movies. However, in April we also gave two concerts in Italy, the first in Barga (including a Vivaldi Credo and Scottish songs) and the second in Milan where we joined forces with Canti Corum to sing Dvorak’s Mass in D. ​ choir members enjoy many social as well as musical events together. We enjoy singing a wide range of repertoire, from classical to jazz and international music. We perform on a regular basis, raising funds for local charities and organisations. We have on going partnerships with choirs in Rheims and Ris Orangis. Our focus is on sharing the joy of singing and friendship.  

Girls from 14-24 with exceptional voices from the Southern Gauteng region are welcome to audition and join the choir.
