The song is inspired by a famous Chinese Poem "Error" by Zheng Chouyu (1933). The song is arranged with modern vocal effect and technique to express The atmosphere and environment of The poem.
The poem describes a girl who has long been waiting for her lover to come back from far away. The clatter of horse hoofs has given her hope. However, it is just a passer-by, not her lover.

MatThew Emery (b. 1991) is a multi award winning composer. Originally from London, Ontario, he currently lives in Vancouver, British Columbia and is studying Music Composition with Dr. Stephen Chatman. Emery's choral works have been performed numerous times through out Canada and The USA. His pieces have been performed by: Amabile Boys' and Men's Choir, Amabile Youth Singers, Amadeus Choir of Toronto, Conspirato Chamber Singers, The Choral Project, Jubilate! In The beginning, Greenwood Singers specialized in The performance of a cappella music from different stylistic periods. Its programming has now expanded to include works with soloists, instrumental ensembles and chamber orchestra. A versatile ensemble, The choir has performed frequently with The Edmonton Symphony Orchestra in a wide variety of programs which have included Mahler’s Symphony No. 8, Holst’s The Planets, family Christmas concerts, The concert version of Jerome Kern’s Showboat, Orff’s Carmina Burana (with The Alberta Ballet) and The ESO’s 1992 reunion with The British rock group, Procol Harum.
