During the tenure of Principal Major Harry L. Reed the Choir won the prestigious R. Meaden Shield(Senior) for Singing for 10 successive years from 1920 to 1931, once with a perfect score of 200/200.
The College Anthem ‘School of our Fathers’, composed by Principal Reed made its debut at this competition on the 13th day of July, 1928 and to this day takes responsibility of preserving the College Anthem. The Choir was trained by Mrs. Reed with the support of Robert C. Edwards, Esq.
The Choir today continues to sing at many major events in and out of College, the most significant out of which being the Annual Carol Service. It has evolved into an ensemble determined to reinvent itself continuously as it develops a sound that is artistically intelligent.
in its 14-year history, Novo Concertante Manila has competed and won in several international choral competitions. Among which are the 2nd Choir Olympics in Busan, South Korea(2002), the 1st A Voyage of Songs international Chorale Competition in Genting Highlands, Malaysia (2003) and the 23rd Takarazuka international Chamber Choir Competition in Takarazuka, Japan (2007). in 2009, the choir won the 1st and 2nd Prizes at the 46th internationaler Chorwettbewerb in Spittalan der Drau, Austria and the 1st Prize at the 55th Certamen international de Habaneras y Polifonia in Torrevieja, Spain.
