Inspired by the majesty and relentless power of glaciers, this composition uses them as a metaphor, transposing their might onto the people who, through their presence, shape us and leave an indelible mark. In each of us, these individuals are like giants who, much like glaciers, move mountains and sculpt valleys, paving the way for us to find our destiny. Through the simplest and most primitive elements of life, we find the essence of what shapes us day by day. Christoph Gerl) Das "Ensemble quartonal" wurde im Jahr 2006 von vier ehemaligen Mitgliedern der Chorknaben Uetersen gegründet. Im Mai 2010 konnte das junge Quartett beim Deutschen Chorwettbewerb den 1. Preis in der erstmals ausgeschriebenen Kategorie der klassischen Ensembles gewinnen und wurde damit über die Landesgrenzen hinaus bekannt. Diese Aufnahme stammt von einem Konzert im Lübecker Dom.
