Not sure of the source, but possibly an arrangement of a song written by the Williams Brothers, a traditional black gospel music group from Jackson, Mississippi formed in 1960. This is a slowed down version with the word 'God' replaced with 'love'.   This concert was the culmination of a six-week project which creates a choir from scratch for one night only. Each winter and summer, Chris Rowbury gathers a random bunch of singers from in and around Ipswich. There are no auditions and all songs are taught and learnt by ear. What began as a small group of friends who were passionate about choral Singing is now a well-established enterprise which is becoming a benchmark in Spain and abroad, as endorsed by the stream of prizes and invitations and the public and critical acclaim. The definitive point of this international recognition came in 2009, when the choir took part in the European Grand Prix for Choral Singing in Tours(France) after having triumphed in all the classes in the competition in Guido d’Arezzo (Italy) the previous year. With the common aim of enjoying choral music, and sharing that enjoyment with others, this project includes an adult choir of 40 mixed voices and a children’s choir (‘Los Peques’) with 50 members. Since then, we have not only grown in numbers but also in confidence and have showcased our talents at several Concerts and other public performances. We have an eclectic repertoire, Singing a large variety of material, including classical, pop and show songs. The Choir is comprised of all ages, skills, interests & talents. We are open to all adults in the local and wider community. Some of our members are talented singers and musicians, although you don't have to be able to read music to join - some members had never sung outside the shower until they joined.  less

The memories of the wonderful and exciting years, the great musical and personal experiences gained while Singing in the children’s choir motivated a group of former members to reunite and to found a female vocal ensemble – in January 2004, students, mothers and young professionals come together to sing for the first time as “Cantilena”. Prof. Elisabeth Ziegler, conductor of the “Gumpoldskirchner Spatzen”, was entrusted to be the artistic director of the new women’s choir. She was tempted by the possibility to go beyond the limits given by the repertoire of a children’s choir and to discover new choral literature with the now adult singers.
