The rehearsals include popular songs, music from the shows, and many more styles, and will help with learning to read music as well as learning to sing in new and different languages. We gather members from all areas of Hertfordshire so whether you are in Hitchin, Stevenage, Letchworth, Welwyn, Ware etc you are welcome to come along. Subscription costs are set low at £2 per week which covers heating, rehearsal space and other fees. Are you a legal professional who's looking for a fresh way to connect with your musical interests and like-minded legal eagles while giving back meaningfully to our Community? The 80+ voice New York City Bar Chorus ("CBC") will conduct a limited number of auditions (brief, private and low-pressure), with primary focus on baritones, basses and high sopranos, for our fall 2017 cycle. We rehearse about three Tuesday evenings per month, from 7:00 to 8:30 PM, in midtown Manhattan to produce what listeners describe as a professional-quality sound, spanning musical theater, jazz, pop/rock, gospel and classical styles. We sing music from the early 1900's through to more modern songs such as Billy Joel, The Rat Pack etc. The chorus focuses on improving singing techniques and making chords "ring" while at the same time simply having fun. We love it when a 4 part chord is correctly tuned and the chord just locks together and harmonics (or overtones) ring out loud and strong. We compete every year in local contest as a mean of measuring our progress against similar groups but we just love to perform for the public and so our contest activities are very well balanced with public performance. We also have a great time together as one of our goals is to provide a place where men can gather and enjoy their interest in singing. The Harbour Capital Chorus was formed in Wellington on February 4th, 1988 following pioneering work by the “Co-ordinated Chemists” Quartet for several years prior to that.
