Sin...  moreWhen Fred Reinagel founded the Vail Chorale in 2011, his goal was simple: to create a non-auditioned community chorus that would provide an opportunity for choral music-Making on Tucson’s east side, welcoming singers of all ages and musical skills. Since its inception, the Vail Chorale has been entertaining local audiences with Fall and Spring concerts that feature musical styles for every taste. Performances have taken place at various locations including Empire and Cienega High Schools, the Arizona Senior Academy, and the Del Webb Lodge at Rancho del Lago. Chorale members have included high school students as well as adults of all ages, who have found that the intergenerational experience has added to the fun of singing together. This concert was organized under the auspices of the Turkish consulate general in Batumi, in the concert hall of the Zakaria Paliashvili Music School. A selection of modern polyphonic songs from various cultures were performed and the performance received great praise from the audience. then the choir respectively appeared in front of audiences in Ankara, Kastamonu and Adana, followeed by their participation in Turkey Choirs Festival in June. then in August, Anchorus participated in the competition episode of the “Orhid Choir Festival” which was held in the town of Orhid in Macedonia. We love it when a 4 part chord is correctly tuned and the chord just locks together and harmonics (or overtones) ring out loud and strong. We compete every year in local contest as a mean of measuring our progress against similar groups but we just love to perform for the public and so our contest activities are very well balanced with public performance. Listen to Eri Yamamoto and Choral Chameleon's Artistic Director Vince Peterson discussing the project, with footage from the November 2018 premiere at the Paul Taylor Dance Company Studios. the event culminated in a dance party encore with audience and choir dancing together! After a simple lesson in the Obon dance from Shiga prefecture in Japan, the audience danced to a reprise of the final movement by the choir and trio. the live performance recording of Goshu Ondo Suite will be released by Aum Fidelity label.
