A fantastic and welcome addition to the British Choral tradition, Reverie is defined by its unique blend of voices and carefully crafted approach to interpretation. These engaging and distinctive qualities create a Choral timbre perfectly suited to modern vocal repertoire.  

The ensemble currently consists of 40-50 auditioned singers. The University Chorale is the touring ensemble for the Choral department. The University Chorale is the touring ensemble for the Choral department. The ensemble performs a wide spectrum of the finest Choral literature. The group performs extensively throughout the Southwest and will be singing at several venues in Washington D.C. during December of 2013. The group primarily consists of vocal music majors, however, there are singers representing several other academic disciplines. The University Chorale has been under the direction of J. Steven Walker since 1984. Dr. Walker is the Director of Choral Activities and a Linscheid Distinguished Teaching Professor at East Central University. He has served on the music faculty at ECU since 1983.  less

Although relatively small in number, the ...  moreThe Renaissance Choir is an amateur Choir of very high standard and reputation. The Choir’s repertoire imaginatively balances unaccompanied Choral music from the Renaissance period with 19th - 21st century works. Although relatively small in number, the Choir is accomplished in singing music in both double and triple Choir form. Particular specialisms include the works of William Byrd, Thomas Tallis and Tómas Luis da Victoria. The Choir has performed in many prestigious venues in Europe, including Notre-Dame in Paris, Chartres cathedral and Versailles. Events such as the Prague Spring International Festival (Czech Republic) have also featured the Choir. In 2006, in Budapest, the Choir performed Tallis’s towering 40-part motet Spem in Alium, with the internationally renowned Budapest Monteverdi Choir. In 2008 the Choir enjoyed a trip to the Lisbon region and sang in some truly fantastic venues, including Mosteiro dos Jerónimos.  less
