Six Degree Singers has featured in events all around the D.C.-metro area, including the Silver Spring Loy Krathong Thai Festival and the Chesapeake-Potomac Invitational Bonspiel, an annual curling event, and was recently selected to perform in the closing concert of the Kennedy Center's National Choral Festival in 2014. As a registered non-profit organization, Six Degree Singers also participates in outreach activities at various charity events and retirement communities.  less

This premier female ensemble, were the first choir in the country to venture into the world of international choral music, and have been truly musical ambassadors to Sri Lanka. They are the only choir to record an international album in 2004 when they were asked to record a single for a Tsunami project where Soul Sounds shared the stage with Cliff Richard, Bill Wyman of the Rolling Stones, Russell Watson (the famed contemporary tenor), Robin and Barry Gibb of the Bee Gees, Steve Winwood, Boy George, Chicago and others. Since then, this choir has not merely won gold medals at the World Choir Games, but have been the only choir that has had many concert tours on invitation. Our beginnings lie at Kingsbury High School in Brent. The school's choir became very successful in the mid-1980s, winning many competitions including the Llangollen Eisteddfod. When school was over, it seemed natural to carry on singing together as a choi...  moreOur beginnings lie at Kingsbury High School in Brent. The school's choir became very successful in the mid-1980s, winning many competitions including the Llangollen Eisteddfod. When school was over, it seemed natural to carry on singing together as a choir, and the group's achievements included reaching the semi-finals of Sainsbury's Choir of the Year and appearing on Opportunity Knocks. In the 1990's, the choir moved to Harrow and officially became known as Jubilate. Sarah Stroh took over as Musical Director in 1999 and since then the choir has grown significantly, doubling in size to its current membership of 43. There are still some original members of the choir, who have been singing together for more than 25 years. Our recent competition successes include winning the Barnardo's National Choir competition in March 2013 and the ladies choir, folk and popular music classes and runner-up with distinction in the sacred music class in the 2012 Mid-Somerset Festival.
