We had organized a Year of meetings, celebrations, seeing each other, sharing hugs, music and songs. Most of those wishes cannot be fulfilled, for the moment. Still, we want to share with you something very valuable to us. Today, we want to give you Diamante, a song that, in many ways, represents us. "They gave me a diamond And I don't know what to do with so much light I open my hand for a moment And it shines up to the sky cleaning the blue ” And here we are. Giving away and giving us a Diamond. Our dreams are still intact. I thank them for their loyalty to our fans and their fellow choir members, and for their diligence in preparing individual performances to such a demanding degree of musicianship. We all share an understanding of how important it is right now to share the joy of song with the world. Tomislav Veršić in the school Year 1992/93 by merging two school ensembles founded a Year earlier: Girls’ Choir, and traditional Dalmatian male vocal group (so-called “klapa”) “Šufit”. At the end of the following school Year, the choir participated for the first time at the Croatian Youth Music Festival, choral competition which is traditionally held in Varaždin, thereby winning the Silver Plaque. In 1996 the performance of the choir at the same event was rewarded with Gold Plaque. After this success, the choir received new, more experienced members, and began to act as the Mixed Choir of Cultural and Artistic Association “Aspalathos”. Although new ensemble soon became well recognized and multiply awarded, it ceased to be a part of the school and thus of this historical review as well.
