Tomislav Veršić in the school year 1992/93 by merging two school ensembles founded a year earlier: Girls’ Choir, and traditional Dalmatian male Vocal group (so-called “klapa”) “Šufit”. At the end of the following school year, the choir participated for the first time at the Croatian Youth Music Festival, choral competition which is traditionally held in Varaždin, thereby winning the Silver Plaque. In 1996 the performance of the choir at the same event was rewarded with Gold Plaque. After this success, the choir received new, more experienced members, and began to act as the Mixed Choir of Cultural and Artistic Association “Aspalathos”. Although new ensemble soon became well recognized and multiply awarded, it ceased to be a part of the school and thus of this historical review as well. The Groningen Vocal Exploration choir is a group that meets twice a month to play with Vocal sound. Led by Dr. Chris Tonelli, we practice free and conducted Vocal improvisation and gain experience with conventional and unconventional Vocal exploration.

The students in the KCKCC VJ program learn Jazz Education through a variety of methods. First of all, each of these students take private Vocal jazz coachings weekly. They also perform music by professional Vocal ensembles, arrangements by well-known Vocal jazz educators, and learn jazz and popular music standards (both through the ensemble and in private coachings).  less

We are committed to building community through excellence in a cappella harmony, and we love to learn. We rehearse weekly to improve our Vocal skills and build lasting friendships in the process. Although we have diverse backgrounds, our members thrive by working together to achieve shared goals. We sing a range of repertoire from jazz standards to 21st-century pop, barbershop to show tunes, but most importantly we sing a cappella. As well as entertaining audiences across the eastern suburbs of Melbourne we compete regularly in barbershop harmony competitions at a national level.
